Engineer I, Part time

The Engineer I performs computer support services for MicroData clients twenty hours per week. The primary responsibility for this position will involve working at one MicroData North Shore client site 2.5 days per week.

Essential Functions:

1. Works to meet MicroData mission, objectives, and goals.
2. Works primarily at MicroData client site on Boston’s North Shore.
3. Interact with end users in a professional and supportive manner.
4. Responsible for organization and documentation of all service activities in MicroData’s ticketing system.
5. Performs other on-site or off-site service functions as required. Such activities include, but are not limited to, software setup, operation, or training; hardware procurement, setup, operation, and training; warranty claims processing, documentation.
6. Must be able to work either independently or as a member of a team.
7. Keeps informed of organizational policies & procedures, answers related questions within authority.
8. Experience, Professionalism, and Maturity are a must.
9. Must have thorough knowledge of Windows client OS including Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7.
10. Must have thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office including 2003/2007/2010.
11. Must have experience with Lotus Notes.
12. Must have experience with machine imaging with Symantec Ghost.
13. Must be able to support multiple vertical applications in a short time period.

Other Responsibilities:
May perform other work-related duties as assigned.


Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
1. College degree
2. An advanced certificate (MCTS Preferred) demonstrating competence in implementing, deploying, and troubleshooting Microsoft technologies – primarily Windows XP/Vista/7.
3. 1-4 years of experience providing customer support in technology related areas
4. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to organize and prioritize work, work unsupervised, and meet deadlines
6. Must have a current valid drivers license with an excellent driving record and reliable transportation
